Shopify really is the gift that keeps on giving.
The release of Shopify Editions has given us an insight into the numerous capabilities the world’s largest eCommerce platform has been developing. As always, Shopify has pulled out all the stops when it comes to helping businesses connect to their consumers. With the launch of over 100 features and tools, there’s a lot to take in.
We’ve explored some of the latest features to come from the eCommerce platform in 2022.
The first step to getting sales- finding your customers. That’s where Shopify Audiences comes in. The audience app allows you to identify potential customers by providing a unique insight into purchase intent and identifying buyers who are looking for your products through the merchant centre. High-interest audiences can then be exported to ad platforms like Facebook, helping you increase your success there.
Why we love it:
Helps decrease conversion costs with enhanced top of funnel targeting
The algorithm improves over time to provide fresh audience data
Audiences can be used for look-a-like campaigns to drive more acquisition
Provision of dashboards and reports to show how your audiences impact your business
Customer data is secure
Next up is Shop Cash Rewards.
With research finding that 78% of consumers want a loyalty program that allows them to redeem their rewards more easily, this is definitely a winner in our eyes. Through Shop Cash, Shopify will give buyers Shop Cash rewards for their Shop Pay purchases. Shop Cash Boosts will allow businesses to create offers to gain new customers who are already using the Shop app.
Why we love it:
Buyers are rewarded and can use these rewards on the Shop app
Quicker conversions of first-time sales through new-buyer promotions.
Shop Cash is free—only pay for Boosted sales
Other ways to find more customers, without the mind field of navigating digital ads include:
Selling products directly on Twitter through Twitter Shopping
Using Shopify’s all-in-one creator management tool Dovetail to find new creators, build authentic communities, better manage relationships, and track affiliate sales
Using Linkpop’s free ‘link in bio’ tool to share everything you’ve created online.
Build shopping experiences into any platform using Marketplace Kit’s flexible and trusted APIs
What's next?
So, you’ve found the ideal customer set, how do you start to convert them?
Have no fear, Shopify has that covered too. Check out some of our favourite ways in which Shopify makes converting that much easier.

Shop Pay Enhancements
We all fear the dreaded abandoned carts. Page load time, the number of steps required, having to re-enter details, the reasons for abandoning carts are multiple. With research showing that 69.57% of carts are abandoned, it’s a statistic all retailers want to drastically reduce. Shop Pay boosts conversion 1.91x higher on mobile by prefilling customers’ information. Shop Pay can lead to faster checkouts on your online store, in the Shop app, and is now available on Facebook, Instagram, and Google. Another incentive for customers to make it all the way to checkout.
Why we love it:
Increased mobile conversions
Helps customers reduce their carbon footprint
Earns repeat customers more effortlessly
Easy API integration
It doesn’t stop there, additional features to convert customers include:
Checkout Extensibility which allows for the addition of branding, loyalty programs, recommended products, and more
Discount Combinations allowing multiple discounts on the same order
The above are just some of the extensive list of features and tools Shopify have or are in the middle of launching. We’ll keep you updated on the rest.
